We are wrapping up 2009 with an economy in crisis and the world in ferment but we recognise this historic moment as a new beginning and a source of opportunity. We have sought to seize the energy of change rather than the complaints of those who do not know how to change.
We gather our enthusiasm by watching those who create and make a new dash forward, with new visions and new strategies – despite everything. "Luxury is Slow" is a new slogan of Louis Vuitton in the windows of their Venetian shops. At the Biennale, between the pavilions of the Arsenal and the Gardens. Art narrates prophetically the course of mankind from now over the next 10 years. The desire of Man for the secrets of the Universe, Spirituality, the problems of the environment, the social differences across the Globe, social perversions, the mysteries of the mind and the unconscious as means to reveal the Secret of Life. Art always recalls the disquiet and desires of the Soul as though Humanity were a single body. Trends are identified in the seams of Art, music and in the highest human expression in Poetry. Often I am asked where I find the clues to forecasting consumer attitudes so far in advance. The secret has been known for ever. It starts with the artistic avant-garde, which today spreads and transforms itself with the speed of the Net. We are working for the Future, even though we have finally understood that to arrive there we should "slow down" to think, re-elaborate and re-design. Fantastic seasons await us, where new artistic energies pervade the catwalks, the surfaces of a jewel, and the fabric of a handbag.
Enjoy your vision!

THE TEMPTATION OF THE ABSTRACT

From Modernism to Abstraction The breath of the Fifties
By Estelle Arielle Bouchet

The concept of Abstract Art is not confined to being a sophisticated movement of our time or some intellectual affectation for a circle of insiders, but rather relates to a pictorial tradition that is brutal, vernacular and instinctive, dating back to the beginning of time: rock painting without any kind of human representation whatsoever or like the Gate of Babylon which highlights a pictorial dialectic made up of symbols and animals or the ancient frescoes of the Lascaux caves...
